Software for everyday use is pre-installed on workstations; special software can be installed by users themselves (self-service) via the IT support portal or the system's own software center (start menu); certain products may require approval or must be ordered via the service desk. Certain software can also be used platform-independently via virtual access.

In addition to the standard software offering, the University of Graz also provides special research software, such as elabFTW.
