In recent years, the digitization of research has increased rapidly, so that there is an increasing need for the management of digital research data. As a result, more and more tasks in this area are being taken on by academic libraries and other research-supporting institutions. A sound basic training is crucial to keep up with the growing amount of research data and to cope with the constantly advancing technical development. In the future, the demand for data stewards at research institutions will steadily increase.
The Data Steward course, which has been designed by the University Library and the Centre of Information Modelling, focuses on training participants in the use of research data in a scientific environment. This includes working with these data and supporting the researchers who produce them. Data Stewards will be able to perform tasks at all stages of the research cycle.
